Our Breath Test division, created in 2008, designs and distributes innovative high-tech solutions for drinking-and-driving prevention.

The leading cause of death on the roads, accounting for 29 % of victims (and 42 % in the 18 to 24 age group), drinking and driving has naturally become a priority target for public authorities in their efforts to reduce road accident figures.

The main means of combating excessive alcohol consumption is obviously self-testing.
Widespread use of this means is encouraged by legislation and accepted and expected by both private and professional road users (84 % of drivers are prepared to carry out regular self-testing).
After a meal at a restaurant or a meeting with friends, or consuming alcohol in a bar or club, self-testing is the obvious solution for saving lives: 85 % of drinking-and-driving road accident victims are occasional drinkers. A simple act which allows drivers to take to the road again in complete safety and keep a clean driving licence.

2010: OBJECTIF PREVENTION presents  ETHYLEC, an electronic breath test device with electrochemical sensor which guarantees easy, accurate and effective self-testing. ETHYLEC has obtained NFX 20-704 certification from the Laboratoire National d’Essais (L.N.E.), the only compulsory certification in France for electronic breath test devices. Its price offers the best value for money on the market and will facilitate the spread of its use among both private and professional users.

2011: Ignition interlock systems are becoming a drastic but effective solution for prevention of repeated drinking and driving. Its widespread use by public authorities on sensitive target drivers (drivers transporting children and repeat offenders) is effective.
